Good Morning Ginger Smoothie

Good Morning Fellow Foodies!

This morning I got up and made a green smoothie, like most of my days.  I usually just toss ingredients in and hope for the best/fix it as I go, but for some reason today’s was so surprisingly good on the first try that I just HAVE to share it with you!!  It has EXACTLY the right amount of ginger and sweetness that will bring you pleasantly to consciousness as you start your day.  IMG_3098

Good Morning Ginger Smoothie
Serves 1

Ingredients
2 Large handfuls spinach
1/2 cup water (add more if you have trouble blending!)
*
1 large banana
2 heaping tablespoons hemp protein powder
3/4 inch knob of ginger
1 heaping tablespoon almond butter
1/4- 1/2 tsp cinammon
1/2 tsp turmeric
pinch of black pepper (don’t leave this out, it helps your body absorb the turmeric!)
1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
1/8-1/4 tsp green minerals
1/8-1/4 tsp spirulina powder

Method
Blend up the spinach and water until smooth.  Add all the ingredients in order and blend until smooth (make sure the ginger has been blended, you don’t want to get a big chunk of it!!), adding more water if necessary. Enjoy with a smile and a deep breath.

I hope you try this out! It is so great to wake up to, its delicious and has just a hint of zing to it to get you going on the day.
