May 1 Photo Friday

Happy May!

Today I was able to get out an take some pictures of flowers, and ended up running into a furry friend who was watching me the whole time.  This really makes me feel like summer is here, and only less than a week left before classes are out. But really, this was a great way to de-stress.  I hope you are all finding ways to maintain your sanity.

Photo Friday!

February was a great month–it was Marti Gras and my sister’s birthday in the same week, which basically meant: PARTAAYYY! So I went home and “partied” the only way my family knows how: a good feast.  So here are some of the pictures of the King Cake my sister made as well as our family favorite salad of the winter.

I was so excited to be home and take pictures of delicious food, with my quasi-new lens, but it made me sad to see a lot of my pictures come out blurry. I think I either needed my tripod or just some much better lighting (our kitchen can feel a little dark sometimes).  Either way, I am just glad I got a couple of good shots in, though I think the salad ones came out much better than the cake pics.  Only one way to go from here, I guess, which is up!

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to TREAT YO’ SELF this Friday!

Happy Earth Day!

Hello to all!

I hope you are enjoying as beautiful a day as I have here in Harrisonburg.  The wind is blowing so hard I have to lean into it full tilt (even with my backpack on!), but the sun is shining so bright that I can’t complain.  I’m just feeling happy to be alive on such a beautiful earth :)  I figured that I’d post today, in the spirit of earth day.  Since traveling around the Atlantic, I feel like I have seen so much more of the world and have grown my appreciation for just how different it can be.

This incredible planet is what drives me to eat clean and sustainably (ie: mostly vegan/vegetarian).  Whether or not this is how you show your love for the planet, I challenge you to think about what you do to show your love!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
