May 1 Photo Friday

Happy May!

Today I was able to get out an take some pictures of flowers, and ended up running into a furry friend who was watching me the whole time.  This really makes me feel like summer is here, and only less than a week left before classes are out. But really, this was a great way to de-stress.  I hope you are all finding ways to maintain your sanity.

Photo Friday!

February was a great month–it was Marti Gras and my sister’s birthday in the same week, which basically meant: PARTAAYYY! So I went home and “partied” the only way my family knows how: a good feast.  So here are some of the pictures of the King Cake my sister made as well as our family favorite salad of the winter.

I was so excited to be home and take pictures of delicious food, with my quasi-new lens, but it made me sad to see a lot of my pictures come out blurry. I think I either needed my tripod or just some much better lighting (our kitchen can feel a little dark sometimes).  Either way, I am just glad I got a couple of good shots in, though I think the salad ones came out much better than the cake pics.  Only one way to go from here, I guess, which is up!

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to TREAT YO’ SELF this Friday!

Photo Friday: Soups

Happy Friday to all!

I am so excited the weekend is almost here–the weather is beautiful and everyone seems to be in a good mood .  I hope this is the case for you.  Anyway, I have been thinking back on the cooking class I took a month ago at NGI, and realized I have a ton of pictures from it! I wish the lighting had been better, but I think I was able to get some pretty good pictures out of it.  That didn’t seem to stop me when we were making things though–I was snapping away at the shutter any time we prepared or tasted a dish.  Let me tell you, it was hard not to just dig straight in because all the recipes were so delicious.  However, I constantly found myself the last one to start eating because I wanted to capture the moment right before devouring a dish.  Since I took so many pictures, I decided I would just post the soups for this week.  So without further ado, here are my soups:
